5. Discussion and Action Items  
Flashing pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and  
Maritime Drive.  
Police Chief Nick Reimer noted that this intersection is not well-suited for  
pedestrian crossings due to the significant curve, urging pedestrians to use  
the rapid flashing beacons available nearby. A motion was proposed to  
install mobile pedestrian crossing signs in the area during the Spring,  
Summer, and Fall months, and to have city staff evaluate the location for  
any suggestions to enhance pedestrian safety.  
Moved by Cummings, seconded by Vanderkin, that this Request be placed on file  
and referred to Council. The motion carried by the following vote:

Out of State Travel Request for Officer Austin Schleis - Working K9  
Training with Tony Pallotta - Beeton Ontario Canada  
Officer Jason Koenig is transitioning to the first shift, and K9 Neko is set to  
retire soon. Officer Austin Schleis has been appointed as the next K9  
handler. Once approved, Officer Schleis will travel to Beeton, Ontario,  
Canada, to undergo training with Tony Pallotta and the chosen dog.  
Moved by Cummings, seconded by Vanderkin, that this Request be approved.
