Aldermanic Compensation
This item was discussed at the June, 2022 Personnel meeting and the
committee asked for comparatives to be brought to the next meeting. The
Ordinance was last changed in 2007 to $260 per month for Alder
compensation. The comparatives were brought forward and some
discussion was had on possibly raising the monthly compensation to attract
more interest in local politics.
Moved by Sitkiewitz, seconded by Czekala, that this request be approved and
referred to council to increase the monthly Alder compensation to $450 per
month and keep everything else the same for the compensation plan for the
Alders. This increase would start the next time there is an election since this
increase is based off of terms. The motion carried by the following vote:

the meeting as authorized by Section 19.85(1)(e) of the Wisconsin Statutes, which authorizes the
governmental body to convene in closed session for the purpose of deliberating or negotiating the
purchasing of public properties, the investing of public funds, or conducting other specified public
business, whenever competitive or bargaining reasons require a closed session.
